After the Election Commission rejected dismissed Border Security Force (BSF) soldier Tej Bahadur Yadav's nomination from Varanasi to take on PM Narendra Modi, some of the BSF jawans have opened a Pandora's box. At a time when the entire election is being fought on the plank of nationalism and bravado of security forces and a 'strong' political will, these soldiers narrate their stories, the sorry state of affairs in the paramilitary forces and what they go through if they dare to raise their voices.

NewsClick spoke to two soldiers – one of whom has been terminated for venting on Twitter against the government after the gruesome killings of his colleagues in a Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh, while the other soldier has retired from the BSF.
