Journalists Protest Against Kanojia’s Arrest, Demand Scrapping of Criminal Defamation Law

Raising questions on the arrest of journalists by UP Police, scribes from different organisations assembled for a protest march in New Delhi on Monday. Members of civil society and journalists not only accused Yogi Adityanath government of stifling criticism, but also demanded scrapping of criminal defamation law, which, they allege, has been constantly used against the journalists. They reiterated that such actions cannot deter them from doing their job.
