Real Kashmir FC have become the most talked-about story in the Indian football scene after their debut in the country's top flight I-League. But, behind the relative fanfare that the state's leading men's club has received, there are countless smaller stories of coaches, parents, educators and children coming together to fight for the right to play. The Jammu and Kashmir State Football Academy (SFA) is an ambitious project taking organised sport to many parts of the state. Newsclick was in Kashmir recently and we got to meet the first batch of girls getting a chance to engage with the sport through the initiatives of the SFA.
