Newsclick caught up with Dr. Rajat Chauhan, organiser of La Ultra - The High, and ultra-marathoners Munish Dev, Mandeep Doon and Praveen Sharma, who finished the Brazil 135 in January, to discuss the distance running movement in India.

Indian ultra-marathoners Munish Dev (35), Mandeep Doon (40) and Praveen Sharma (32) achieved something special in January this year. The trio raced and finished the Brazil 135, a gruelling 217 km race that participants have to complete within a mandatory cut-off time of 48 hours. The trio crossed the line in 46 hrs and 45 minutes. Newsclick caught up with the three runners as well as Dr. Rajat Chauhan, organiser of La Ultra - The High (India's premier ultramarathon in Ladakh), where their ultra-running journey took flight.
