As per the government’s figures, the retail inflation saw a steep increase in December 2019 and reached 7.35%. It was 5.54% in November 2019, and 2.11% in December 2018. One of the key reasons behind this steep rise is believed to be inflated prices of food items. Figures say that food items inflation was 14.12% in December 2019.
