On June 3, the Tamil Nadu Untouchability Eradication Front (TNUEF) staged a protest infront of the Walajapet Taluk office, demanding the demolition of ‘Untouchability Wall’, which is isolating the dalit residents of Ambedkar Nagar in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu. The residents have been facing caste discrimination by the wall built by upper caste Hindus of the region. The protest was organised to put pressure on the Taluk administration to execute the Sub Judicial Magistrate's order to demolish the wall. No action has been taken by the Tehsildar so far on the order dated May 2nd. The residents of Ambedkar Nagar also participated in the protest.
