While President Obama prepares for a photo-op for the resumption of direct negotiations between the Palestinian National Authority (PNA) and Israel, Palestinians get ready for protests. . . Palestinians have struggled for over 60 years for a just peace that respects their rights and they continue to do so today. Why do Palestinians then resent the PNA entering into negotiations, which aim to reach an agreement within one year?

Israel's recent wave of repression led to arrest of Jamal Juma', coordinator of Stop the Wall Campaign.

Israeli security first summoned Juma' for interrogation at midnight on 15 December. Hours later, they brought him back to his home. Juma' was handcuffed while soldiers searched his house for two hours as his wife and three young children looked on helplessly. The parting words of the soldiers were directed at his wife: she would only see her husband again through a prisoner exchange. Since then, Juma' has been detained, and banned from speaking to a lawyer or his family, with no explanation for his arrest.
