Media, The Fourth Estate: Free or Paid?

The 'paid news' controversy has gathered momentum for past few months. Reports reveal that many big media corporations in India have signed equity-for-advertising deals with private companies. These private treaties have narrowed down the gap between the editorial and advertising space. Its obvious that whenever media will be 'paid' democracy will be betrayed. Newsclick talks to Senior Journalist Pranjoy Guha Thakurta.
