Prabir Purkayastha, a power expert and also with Newsclick discusses the reasons for the 2 grid collapses on 30th and 31st July. These collapses are the direct consequence of "open access" and transferring large amounts of power between regional grids. He believes that it is a precursor to a much bigger crisis of the power sector caused by wrong policies of the neo-liberal regime running India.
