'Rs 8,000 Crore Budget Cut for Anganwadi, On Way to Privatisation'

In this interview with NewsClick, general secretary of the All India Federation of Anganwadi Workers and Helpers, A R Sindhu, says that the Anganwadi scheme, which has played the most significant role in the fight against malnutrition in India, has seen a budget cut of over Rs 8,000 crore in its allocation this year. The huge reduction in budget allocation can prove to be a threat to the very existence of the scheme in India, she added.
