Recently, the Constitutional Conduct group, a group of retired civil servants wrote a letter to the President, raising doubts about the credibility of the Election Commission and the extent to which the model code of conduct is being followed by the ruling party. In this conversation with Newsclick, Prabir Purkayastha talks to former civil servant Sundar Burra about the ways in which constitutional institutions are being subverted under the current regime, and what finally drove them to file a complaint against the Election Commission.
