Elections 2019: Anganwadi Workers Feel Betrayed and Cheated

Many of these workers are upset with the Modi government over policies of privatisation, fear of job loss and shutdown of the Anganwadi centres.

NewsClick travelled to Jaffrabad to meet women employed under Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) to understand their contribution and role in society. In Delhi alone, there are over 21,000 scheme workers, and across the country, the number runs in lakhs.  We find out that many of these workers are upset with the Modi government over policies of privatisation, fear of job loss and shutdown of the Anganwadi centres. They feel cheated and betrayed by the government in the state and at the Centre.
