At the beginning of its second term, the Modi government announced privatisation of Indian Railways with its '100 days action plan'. The All India Central Council of Trade Unions (AICCTU), along with railway employees and other workers from different parts of the city, staged a protest at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi, demanding that railways continue to be run by the State.
