With the admission of more students after implementation of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation, the crisis of infrastructure in JNU campus has become worse. The protesting students argue that it has led to the dropping out of several students from marginalised backgrounds. They also protested against dual studentship and higher fees for the students of new courses in the university.
