Since NEET has been imposed, six students' suicides have been reported from Tamil Nadu over failure in the exam. All the students who committed suicide were women and belonged to the lowest sections of the socio-economic stratum. Several students' organisations have been protesting against the imposition of NEET. Educationist Prince Gajendra Babu discusses the protests surrounding NEET and says that the implication of NEET run much deeper than the entrance level.
