Private Firm with Dubious Record to Conduct Examinations for Odisha’s Largest Technical University

Biju Patnaik University

Update

Globarena Technologies has clarified that it was not blacklisted by the Telangana Government. It has also pointed out that the Telangana High Court had, in June 2019, dismissed a PIL demanding an inquiry into high failure rate and subsequent suicides by failed students due to alleged irregularities in the conduct of examination. This followed a court direction for re-verification of answer sheets of all 3,82,166 students who were declared failed from amongst approximately 9,70,000 candidates. Re-verification revealed that 1,183 students from amongst those who were earlier failed, had in fact passed. The final order said that, “Mere error of 0.16% cannot be declared to be a ‘grave error’.” Reverification also confirmed that the 20 failed students who had committed suicide after results were announced had remained failed. Two students who committed suicide prior to results were declared passed while another student has committed suicide after taking three papers only.
