Senior journalist Ravish Kumar has been bestowed with the Ramon Magsaysay award for raising the issues of common people through his show ‘Prime Time’.

However, before the general elections 2019 he had asked people to boycott television coverage as it has been reduced to a medium of propaganda for the ruling party. NewsClick had interviewed Ravish Kumar in March 2019 to discuss the reason behind his appeal.
