AFC Cup 2017: Bengaluru FC's Sunil Chhetri Talks About the Club's Campaign and the Future of the ISL

Four years since their inception, Bengaluru FC have blazed a fresh trail in Indian football. They have won two I-League titles, and two Federation Cups in their four year history, and have garnered fans, admirers and emulators alike. Last year they became the first Indian club to make it to the final of the AFC Cup, Asia's second tier club competition, losing to Iraq's Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya 1-0. This year, despite setbacks like the ISL draft, an underwhelming domestic season, and the distractions of a World Cup, they are on the brink again. If they can overcome their East Zone opponents FC Istiklol at home, they have a chance at revenge, and another trophy. In an interview with Siddhanth Aney, their captain discusses their AFC campaign, the switch to the ISL and what lies ahead.
