After Jaya, Health Sector in Tamil Nadu Takes Hit

The lack of adequate measures by the state government is leading the poor to suffer from epidemics.

Dr S Kasi, the general secretary of Doctors' Forum for People's Health, says, "The common man in the state is facing improper treatment from the deteriorating public health system, especially in the period after the demise of former Chief Minister Jayalalitha. The lack of adequate measures by the state government is leading the poor to suffer from epidemics." He also added that the privatisation of insurance policies creates discrimination among people and leads to victimisation of the common man.
