Prof. Aijaz Ahmad discusses with Newsclick on the recent NAM conference in Tehran. He believes that NAM has become a vehicle now for assertion by various countries some of who may even be allies of the US, but would still like to contest its complete hegemony in international affairs. Iran has certainly managed to show the US that is not as isolated as the West would like to believe, particularly on the right to reprocess nuclear fuel.
