BJP Infighting in Puducherry Delays Cabinet Formation
The BJP, an insignificant player in Puducherry until recently, is now in a strong position and is able to dictate the All India NR Congress (AINRC) with the support from nominated MLAs and independent legislators. The cabinet has not yet been formed in the Union Territory (UT) even though 50 days have passed since poll results were announced. It is happening when the UT is witnessing the wrath of the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic. In this interview, RK Radhakrishnan, who is also a political analyst, talks about the role of the BJP and to the extent the party is utilising its power at the Centre to capture the power in the UT.
