Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party government of Delhi are routinely derided by the BJP and the Congress for street fighting, bizarre antics and not paying attention to governance. The AAP government has been claiming that the development of Delhi has been hindered because it lacks control over law and order, municipal services, land use and so on, due to multiple jurisdictions within the National Capital Territory. The party argues that the only way to resolve the many problems being faced by the citizens of Delhi's many is to grant it full statehood. Atishi Marlena, spokesperson of the AAP, talks in detail about the recent tussle between the government and the bureaucracy in the first part of this interview in two parts.
