Book Lovers Rue Over Closing of Famous Bookshop on Dal lake
Known for its picturesque location on a small island in Dal Lake, facing the frost-tipped Zabarwan peaks, the bookshop owned by Gulshan books had become a landmark for many in Kashmir. Tourists visiting the lake would often stop by and peer at Valley's cultural and literary world while a cup of coffee would warm them and leave them with memories to cherish. The J&K government, however, ended the contract of the owners last month leaving many book lovers in the region disappointed.
