On December 27, Mumbai's Azad Maidan was teeming with thousands of people who had come out to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. The protest, which witnessed the participation of students from JNU, Jamia and Aligarh Muslim University, was called by the Joint Action Committee for Social Justice which consists of students and civil society organisations.
