Can Biomining Save Delhi from a Garbage Crisis?

Five years after the grand launch of the Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, Delhi is still reeling under a garbage crisis. The 3 landfills of Delhi - Ghazipur, Okhla and Bhalswa - have grown into garbage hills. Despite these landfills having exceeded their capacity, they unsegregated waste continues to be dumped there.

The NGT has directed civic bodies to work towards ridding the city of these garbage hills. One of the proposed solutions is bio-mining, a technique that proved successful in Indore. But can a model which has worked in a smaller town with a fraction of the waste and population work in a mega city like Delhi. Is Bio-mining really the only solution to solve Delhi's garbage problem?
