In conversation with Prabir Purkayastha, Jitendra Chowdhury, MP from Tripura, speaks about the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. According to him, the Bill poses a threat to stability and peace in the North-Eastern states. If it becomes a law, the minorities in Bangladesh – Hindu and Buddhists – might be targeted by the fundamentalists, just as the RSS-BJP are targeting the minorities in India, he says. In addition, the Bill completely betrays the spirit of the secular Indian Constitution.
