Umar Mohammad was shot dead on the highway a day after Khurshida gave birth to their son. "Our child was about to be born and we just had a goat. We decided to buy a new cow so there would be fresh milk for the children," says Khurshida. A dairy farmer from Ghatmeeka, Bharatpur, Umar Mohammad was killed by Hindutva inspired gau-rakshaks (cow vigilantes) for driving a pick-up truck with a newly bought cow in it.
