Kashmir's tourism industry has been struggling to survive for over eight months with back-to-back lockdowns. The houseboat owners talked about how the government advisory in August last year came in the midst of the Amarnath Yatra tourist season and there has been no work in the valley for the people since then.

There are no tourists here and families dependent on shikara rides and houseboats are pleading with the government to give them more than Rs 3,000 for three months as a support package. Newsclick talks to those affected.
