Till now, India's 15 million gig and platform workers have been holding separate protests. In the past, large-scale agitations took place at the local and state levels to change the situation of inhuman work and demand social and economic security. Now, gig workers and their representative unions from across the country have formed a joint platform, called the National Coordination Committee on Gig Workers, to drive a united struggle. The joint platform organised a protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar on July 27. Watch NewsClick's ground report:
