Anuj Kichlu, the player agent who helped Dheeraj secure a month-long trial at the Scottish Premiership club explains the challenges that face Indian players
Securing a trail with a top flight European club is, undoubtedly, a credit to young goalkeeper Dheeraj Moirangthem. But it is also a massive achievement for Anuj Kichlu, the player agent who has been working behind the scenes to make the move happen. From talking to multiple clubs, managing media interest, dealing with immigration laws and acting as his player’s support system, Kichlu has had his hands full. Speaking to Newsclick, from Scotland via Skype, Kichlu explains some of what went on behind the scenes between the Under-17 World Cup last year and now. He talks about the challenges that Indian players seeking a move to Europe face and tells us how Dheeraj’s present trial will play out.
