Retired IPS officer SR Darapuri and Congress spokesperson Sadaf Jafar were arrested from Lucknow as the state has been witnessing protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 2019. However, they were released on Tuesday. While speaking about their arrest, they questioned the role of UP Police and alleged that they are picking up anyone to hide their failure.
