Ghosh also throws light upon how the UGC has not contributed a single penny towards the college, resulting in no new purchase of library books and no scope of remedial teaching, that the university conducts for the ST, SC and OBC students to bring them at par with their privileged counterparts. The policies of the UGC will severely affect the lakhs of teachers teaching in state universities and colleges, which will in turn affect the quality of education in state-level colleges and universities, said Narain.
