In the recently concluded Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party fared badly in three of the four states. While in West Bengal, the saffron party suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the Mamata Banerjee-led TMC government; in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK government, controlled by the Modi-Shah duo, was voted out of power. In Kerala, the party lost even the single-seat it had managed in the last elections. The winners in these states-- Mamata Banerjee, Stalin and Pinarayi Vijayan- belong to different political parties and represent different ideologies. However, the public has handed them a very important responsibility, to provide protection from the terrible pandemic and also to counter Modi's 'Hindutva-Corporate Agenda'. Senior journalist Urmilesh analyses the election results.
