Pandit Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, the chief priest of Sankatmochan temple in Banaras, is a senior professor at BHU IIT. He is also one of the oldest activists demanding Ganga's purification. Mishra is the mahant of the temple which was established by Tulsidas himself. Here, belief lies in faith and devotion, not superstition. The mahants, who are considered to be the staunchest opponents of blind faith, keep away from rhetoric.
