Veteran cricket journalist Pradeep Magazine analyses the implications of the recently-concluded Delhi and Districts Cricket Association (DDCA) elections, held in haste even before a new constitution has been drafted for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and its state units. The new constitution, which needs to be cleared by the Supreme Court, is part of the reforms in Indian cricket administration prescribed by Justice RM Lodha Committee. The elections were won by the panel led by journalist Rajat Sharma, who is the body's new president. Sharma and his panel was, according to reports, backed by a leader from the BJP -- possibly Arun Jaitley -- as well as the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) president Narinder Batra. He beat former India cricketer and World Cup-winner Madan Lal and Co by a huge margin.
