Forces were attacked my militants as they were conducting a cordon and search operation in the town of Chatpora in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. This triggered a gunfight. A high level Lashkar-e-taiba commander is believed to be caught at the encounter site. Stone pelting by youths also erupted at the site.
