In Bihar, children continue to die from Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES). NewsClick talked to social activist and paediatrician Dr. Vandana Prasad about the issue. She insists that the situation has worsened due to the government’s apathy towards the acute poverty and malnourishment prevalent in the region. She emphasises that in Muzaffarpur, the children could have been saved if basic medical facilities were available.
