Newsclick spoke to Dr Kafeel's wife - Dr Shabista Khan - and elder brother Adil Ahmad Khan, who said Dr Kafeel and other fellow doctors have been put behind bars to cover management failures.
Dr Kafeel Ahmad Khan, an accused of BRD Medical College and Hospital tragedy in which over 30 children died after supply of liquid oxygen was disrupted by the supplier because of non-payment of dues, is not well.
The condition of the young doctor, who has been in jail for the past eight months in unhygienic condition without bail, is deteriorating. He along with four other doctor is allegedly being denied proper medical support.
