Goa Elections: Looking at Issues of Fish Sellers and BJP's Report Card

Goa is a coastal state. A large population is involved in the fish business. Despite this, their issues are missing from the entire election discourse. We spoke to some fish sellers in Mapsa's fish market about their issues. What has the BJP done in the last five years and what are the electoral trends at the moment? In the previous term, Joshua Peter D'Souza of BJP was the MLA from Mapsa Assembly constituency. In this electorate, women outnumber men. This time Sudhir Rama Kandolkar from Congress, Rahul Prabhu Mhambre from Aam Aadmi Party and Joshua Peter D'Souza from Bharatiya Janata Party are the candidates. Apart from this, candidates of Shiv Sena, Trinamool, Revolutionary Goan Party and independent candidates are also in the fray.
