The Citizen, Newsclick Joint Production

Eminent Writer, Githa Hariharan, spoke on ‘Upholding India’s Pluralism’ at the recently held Idea of India Conclave. Lambasting the “overnight experts” of Indian culture, she said that culture does not have just one narrative and one spokesperson. Realizing that “lunatic fringe groups” like Ram Sene, Durga Vahini etc. have now become the establishment, she emphasized the need to speak up against them in order to prevent further attacks on films, books, art and other aspects of culture.
