With Jaitley giving full authority to the army to do what it wants, will we be witnessing more human shields?
Defence minister Arun Jaitley said on Wednesday, 24h May, that armed forces in Kashmir had been given full authority to conduct operations as they deemed fit against Pakistan’s attempts to abet cross-border terrorism and also in dealing with militancy in the Valley. Now the army can decide to do whatever it deems fit. Will we be witnessing more human shields? Clearly human rights and international law are thrown down the dumpster.
