Unprecedented Fear in Kashmir: Parvez Imroz

NewsClick spoke with Parvez Imroz, who has been working as a human rights activist for 30 years, about the situation in Kashmir. He said that he has never witnessed such fear in Kashmir before. The government is claiming that 4,000 people have been detained, however, the actual number is much higher. Government has put restrictions on all means of communication. At the moment, one cannot think of any way to reach South Kashmir. There has been a significant jump in cases of harassment. Kashmiris are being kept in various jails of Uttar Pradesh. Local media of the valley is not able to report and only the global media is attempting to create some pressure on the Modi government.
