The committee on civil aspects of International Child Abduction Bill, 2016, has invited comments from the public and its various stakeholders. The Bill, however, does not record the voices of the survivors of domestic violence. Senior advocate Indira Jaising discusses the implications of India signing the Hague convention on the civil aspects of International Child Abduction. Lawyer Suranya Aiyar talks about how the bill is giving orphanages and child protection agencies in foreign countries higher rights of custody to the Indian child and its own family.
