A newsclick team was present when fires were being exchanged between security forces and militants in Pulwama on 29 June 2019.  Faizan Ahmed was killed when clashes broke out between the forces and stone pelters who disrupted the encounter. In a cruel twist of fate, Faizan was taken to the Pulwama District Hospital where his Father Dr. Abdul Gani Poswal works as  a medical officer. Faizan's father declared him  'brought dead.'
