Kashmiri Apples Rot as Trucks on National Highway are Struck

Thousands of apple-laden trucks from Kashmir are halted frequently near Qazigund on NH44. The truck drivers complain that they are only allowed to move once a day for a few hours and most apples end up rotting. Fruit growers from different areas of Jammu and Kashmir hit Srinagar district to register their protest against the administration. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole said that all stranded Jammu-bound trucks will be cleared soon
