Mahapadav Day 3: ASHA Workers Backbone of India’s Health System, Have No Fixed Wages

India’s public health system cannot operate without the contribution of ASHA workers. They have increased institutional deliveries by encouraging women to go to hospitals; they have reduced infant mortality rates; they work day and night to get essential health services to the masses. But the government does not even recognise them as workers.
