The Tamil Nadu government recently issued an order  implementing the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Act, 2019, which was passed by the Narendra Modi government. The order penalises traffic rule violators with hefty fines. The Road Transport Workers Union, affiliated to the CITU, protested the order. Newsclick spoke to the union leaders to understand their concerns.
