No One Is Above the Law: Need for Fair Enquiry in Justice Gogoi's Case

Senior journalist Nikhil Wagle raises many questions about the case against Justice Gogoi and talks about how it damages credibility of the legal system in India.

In an affidavit submitted on April 19, a former staffer of the Supreme Court of India accused CJI Ranjan Gogoi of sexual harassment. According to her statement, her refusal to comply with his unwanted sexual advances led to her being transferred from one department to the other and finally being fired from her job. An in-house committee that was appointed to deal with this case gave a clean chit to Gogoi on May 6, citing lack of substantial evidence. This verdict has been met with a lot of criticism from lawyers and activists from across the country. In this episode of 'Satta Se Sawal', senior journalist Nikhil Wagle raises many questions about this case and talks about how it damages credibility of the legal system in India.
