3,500 workers of the domestic breeding checkers (DBC) have been sitting on a hunger strike outside the MCD headquarters situated on Minto Road, New Delhi for the last nine days. All they are asking for is their salary, that has not been paid for the last four months and demanding that they get permanent positions. With no benefits of any kind extended to the DBC team -- a team that plays a crucial part in keeping the city safe from a widespread epidemic of Dengue, Malaria and Chikungunya. But what is appalling that no one from the MCD administration has come to even meet the striking workers even once!
