Bilal Ahmad Dar was just fourteen years old when he featured in a documentary based on the conservation of Wular Lake in North Kashmir titled "Saving the Savior", a feat that landed him praise from PM Modi in his weekly radio show. In 2017 after the documentary's success, the local government hired Bilal as a "brand ambassador" of Srinagar Municipal Corporation to help raise awareness on the importance of keeping water sources clean. He was offered a monthly salary of 8,000 rupees. This was a ray of hope for Bilal. All this, however, turned out to be false when he was told that the post of Brand Ambassador no longer exists
